We’re excited to announce that Plymouth Junior Football will now be operated as an official Plymouth School District activity.
As part of this transition, the structure of our middle school football program is changing. The biggest update for this season is:
Flag Football: Grades 3–6
Tackle Football: Grades 7–8
For 6th-grade students who feel ready for tackle football, there will be an opportunity to try out for the tackle program. Additional details about that process are included below.

Important Announcements:
- Sign Up for flag and tackle football begins on July 1st through MyRec
- If you are a 6th grader trying out for tackle football, wait to sign up until after youth camp evaluations
- Youth Camp hosted by the Varsity Football Team is July 13th-15th for current 4th-7th Graders

- If you are a 6th grader looking to play tackle, there will be an evaluation during camp. If you cannot make the camp and still want to try out for tackle football contact Kevin Butters ([email protected])

- 4-6 Team Intramural League
- Takes place Saturday mornings from 8-10 on the PHS Turf Field
- 8-8:45 - Warmup and Practice
- 8:45-9:20 - Game 1
- 9:20-10:00 - Game 2
- Reason Behind Change
- Allows high school athletes to coach youth
- Teach fundamentals and skills of multiple positions
- Learn the game and how to play it safe

- $30 Registration Fee
- Program Layout
- 7th Grade-Consists of 7th graders and 6th graders who are physically ready to play and pass the skills test during youth camp
- 8th Grade-Consists of 8th Graders and 7th graders who are physically able and have the necessary skills to play a grade up

- Balancing numbers on the teams
- Completely aligned with High School Program
- Students will be transported by the district to help minimize the burden on families
- Setting culture and expectations to match the High School Program
