Plymouth Junior Football (PJF) is a non-profit organization that is overseen by a nine-member Board of Directors.
While PJF is allowed to use the Plymouth High School practice facilities and game field, and City of Plymouth parks, the organization is not a part of the Plymouth School District, Plymouth Community Education, Plymouth Football Booster Club, or the City of Plymouth.
Funding for PJF equipment and league fees is through registration fees, an annual fundraiser and donations from flag football sponsors and outside individuals and businesses.
Plymouth Junior Football hosts teams in tackle football and flag football. Tackle football consists of 5th through 8th grade children. 5th and 6th grade players, and a team of 7th grade and team of 8th grade children. The tackle football teams participate in the Between the Lakes Youth Football League, and play teams from Howards Grove, Kiel, Manitowoc, New Holstein, Brillion, Chilton, Mishicot, Reedsville, Valders, Two Rivers
Flag football is a city-only league that consists of teams from 1st and 2nd grade, and 3rd-4th grade.
Plymouth Junior Football is considered a "feeder" program for the Plymouth High School football program. The offensive and defensive schemes and structures taught in PJF are the basic levels of the high school's playbook.
Plymouth Junior Football is dedicated to the safety of each child (football player). The coaches teach proper techniques in blocking, tackling and all aspects of contact, and place an emphasis on the players using proper technique.
Participation is necessary to promote the game of football and keep children interested in playing, therefore, PJF emphasizes equal participation of each child in practice and games and does not place an emphasis on winning.
